DEFENSIVE FORMATIONS

The defensive system will depend on the formation of the rival team, as will be man-to-man coverage to block the pass circuit and get possession of the ball quickly.

The offensive formation of this particular system has a diagram to quickly change to the defensive formation against every football system.

OFFENSIVE

The offensive tendency will be ball possession by eliminating a player from the traditional system of 4 defenders playing with one central defender and wing-backs to get an extra player in the front of the court to have more control of the ball.

The team have to rotate the ball in rival area to the wings and wing-backs to look for occasion of danger by the sides but if not having possibilities to pass the ball again to the center of the field. Diagonal movements of the attackers and midfielders to also create danger options through the center of the field while the rotation like a basketball offensive play.

The traditional wings have a tendency of running to the end by themself getting desperate to cross or losing the ball then the Fibonacci football have the instruction to pass the ball to the center again to do not lose control.

The counterattacks will be based on the speed of the wings to start the play, always passing the ball through the center to go the sides and then giving rotation to the other wing. That should be the natural way to start a counter attack, rotating the ball to one side then to the center and back again to the other side to get high possibilities of scoring.

PERSONAL DEFENSE

The defense will be high pressure and personal, meaning that the team will block from the front of the court and every team player will have the responsability to defend a single player to block the passing circuit.

The defensive system will adapt to the formation of the rival team, as will be personal defense blocking each rival element to eliminate the rival passing circuit as recovering the possession of the ball is the priority.

The most common football systems have 4 defenders, 2 central midfielders, 2 wings and 2 strikers, in most cases is a creative midfielder in the back of the striker, few teams continue playing Italian style with 5 defenders but always being the defensive technique to adapt to the rival team to cover man by man.

DEFENSIVE STAIR

The system have a defensive stair to use the players in front of the court to have double team defense in the back when needed. The traditional teams have 2 or 3 defenders that never attack and also always a midfielder will have the tendency to defend, so there is a way to use the team players from the front to go down like on a stair to have the double team defense on the attackers of the opposing team.

The strikers will always have to go down leaving the defenders to cover the central midfielders of the rival team. The central midfielders are the ones are going to make the doublé covering to the strikers of the rival team.

OFFSIDE RULE

Fibonacci football will forget about the offside rule while defending. The coverage is personal, man by man and there is just one central defender on this particular system.

The defensive system being shared by more than one defender is vulnerable as they divide the responsability of the striker coverage and not just divided if not nullified in a lot of occasions. The tactic of the defenders to get the striker caught in offside have gave a lot of goals as consequences.

In attack the Fibonacci football will use the offside rule in favor. Whenever the players do an attacking natural movement then to come back from offside, they will have the tendency of confusing on prupose to the defenders as a visual distraction. The basquetball have a tactic call screen that consint on blocking using a teammate as obstacle, football do not allowed that contact then this tactic is about a visual screen.

The central striker will help as a passing pivot and pressing the rival defense line to the top all the time.

The striker will focus defensively in one central defender when high pressure of the personal defense.

The striker Will be the fundamental piece of the defensive stair for double teams in defensive work, as need to go back to jump a layer to cover the midfielders instead the defenders as the 2 defenders never go to the front on play and allows double coverings to rival strikers.
